Frank Carl Thomas Junior, also known as "Snake," has been indicted in the Buchanan
County Circuit Court on Capital Murder charges in connection with the triple homicide
in Hurley in August of 2009.
Thomas, 35, was indicted on five counts of Capital Murder, three counts of Breaking
and Entering, two counts of Robbery and six counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission
of a Felony.
"The five counts of Capital Murder relate to the murders of Roger Justice, 50,
Janice Justice, 58, and Timothy Blankenship, 41, in Hurley in early August of last
summer," explained Commonwealth's Attorney Tamara Neo. "The first two counts are
for murder during the commission of a robbery. The next two counts are for multiple
murders in the course of a single transaction. The fifth and final count is for
more than one murder within a three-year period."
Thomas remains in federal custody pending trial on charges of being a felon in
possession of a weapon and drug distribution. Thomas is also scheduled for trial
on August 18 for charges of car jacking, conspiracy, and robbery. Additionally,
he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault by mob and sentenced to 12 months to
serve, which he has since appealed. All of these charges stem from a May 16, 2009
incident in the Hurley section of Buchanan County.
Thomas has been held since his arrest on August 7, 2010 and remains held without
bond in all matters.
