Press Release
Buchanan County, Virginia
April 12, 2010

Frank Carl Thomas Junior, also known as "Snake," has been indicted in the Buchanan County Circuit Court on Capital Murder charges in connection with the triple homicide in Hurley in August of 2009.

Thomas, 35, was indicted on five counts of Capital Murder, three counts of Breaking and Entering, two counts of Robbery and six counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

"The five counts of Capital Murder relate to the murders of Roger Justice, 50, Janice Justice, 58, and Timothy Blankenship, 41, in Hurley in early August of last summer," explained Commonwealth's Attorney Tamara Neo. "The first two counts are for murder during the commission of a robbery. The next two counts are for multiple murders in the course of a single transaction. The fifth and final count is for more than one murder within a three-year period."

Thomas remains in federal custody pending trial on charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon and drug distribution. Thomas is also scheduled for trial on August 18 for charges of car jacking, conspiracy, and robbery. Additionally, he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault by mob and sentenced to 12 months to serve, which he has since appealed. All of these charges stem from a May 16, 2009 incident in the Hurley section of Buchanan County.

Thomas has been held since his arrest on August 7, 2010 and remains held without bond in all matters.
